surprisingly disappointingApr 25, 2008
By browncoat012 First, of the six different Dolfin chocolate-bar varieties I've tried this is the *only* variety I wouldn't recommend. The other five were excellent, and that's partly why this product is such a let-down. The candied orange peel has a texture like paraffin wax. As well, only on occasion did I actually taste a little bit of orange, and the unpleasant waxy texture kept me from being able to enjoy the chocolate.
This is in complete contrast to the dark chocolate with fresh ginger bar, which is absolutely delicious; and their dark with cinnamon is also wonderful.
For the most part I prefer Dolfin to Café Tasse, but the latter's orange-chocolate combination is superior by far. Café Tasse Noir Orange - Orange Belgian Dark Chocolate Bar - 54% Cacao
Dolfin, please rework this chocolate bar to meet your customarily high standards.

What a surprise to find 5 barsMar 26, 2006

When ordering Dolfin chocolates, you know you will be paying quite a lot for a small amount of chocolate so I thought only one bar would arrive. It was a delicious surprise to find five bars of chocolate. This meant I could actually share some with my husband and not horde the chocolate in my secret stash. For emergency use only, of course.
The smooth chocolate is deeply satisfying and the orange presents a chewy temptation within the chocolate snap. Each bar is perfect and delicious.
I still like the Orange Blossom chocolates the best, but if you enjoy orange chocolates, these are quite gourmet. I hope they list all their chocolates or a sampler may be in order.

P.S. The second time I ordered this chocolate only
one bar arrived in a huge box.

Splendid CreationNov 04, 2004

Dolfin Chocolate bars are a must have.
I was searching for them today (here) on a lark because they are very hard to find in the USA. And this popped up.
Orange Peel - the orange bar is good, and there are not chunks, but pieces of the orange in the bar. The pieces are like a thick jelly, not a solid, but not liquid either. The smell is a REAL orange, not a fake orange. Your mouth starts to water right away, when you smell the orange/chocolate goodness. The orange is a good compliment for chocolate.
The chocolate is NOT American style, it is the delicious European style chocolate. But it isn't a hard waxy chocolate like some. Dolfin chocolate is one of my favorites.
Orange Peel is a good flavor, not my favorite. Dolfin makes a Dark w Anise Seed, and a Milk with Masala, both of which are so good that you have to eat them alone or someone will try to snatch it from you. (Masala is some blend of seasoning. A Milk w Masala bar always makes me think of the movie Chocolate w J Depp, because the woman mixes spices in with her chocolates. I am waiting for those to appear on Amazon. Sigh.)
